City of Vidalia Listens to Community Input; Public Forum Canceled and Overlay District Ordinance Tabled The City of Vidalia would like to extend its sincere gratitude to our residents and business owners for their active participation and thoughtful feedback regarding the proposed Overlay District ordinance. Community input is the heart of effective local government, and leadership has been deeply encouraged by the high level of engagement and care our citizens have shown for the future of Vidalia.

In direct response to the community feedback received, the City of Vidalia has made the official decision to table the Overlay District ordinance.

Because this decision has been made, the Public Forum previously scheduled for Tuesday, August 18, at 5:30 p.m. has been canceled.

While the current ordinance proposal is being set aside, city leaders remain committed to thoughtful growth and planning that aligns with the vision and values of our community. Moving forward, the City will continue to thoroughly research and explore this zoning option—along with alternative planning strategies—to ensure we best serve and support the needs of all Vidalia citizens.
