Job Announcement Firefighter - City of Vidalia Type: Full-time Open until filled The position offers a starting salary of $35,270.32 for non-certified candidates, increasing to $37,959.68 upon certification. Salaries for certified applicants depend on experience and rank. Responsibilities include fire suppression and emergency response. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of relevant experience. Candidates must hold or obtain a valid Georgia driver’s license suitable for the vehicle or equipment operated. Compliance with standards from the National Fire Protection Association and the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Act is required. Additional requirements include a Class F Driver’s License issued by Georgia, NPQ Firefighter 1 certification, Hazmat awareness and operations, and NIMS certifications 100, 200, 700, and 800. An oral interview will evaluate communication skills, appearance, and background.
