Job Requirements

Knowledge Required by the Position

  • Knowledge of NCIC/GCIC policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of emergency communications principles.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Skill in the operation of radio, communications, and recording equipment.
  • Skill in operating a computer.
  • Skill in dealing with the public.
  • Skill in maintaining records and preparing reports.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain GCIC/NCIC certification.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a communications officer certification in Georgia as issued by the Peace Officers Standards and Training Council.
